Kurrant is thrilled to announce the finalists for The Smart Deal 2024, a leading event highlighting top smart city startups from around the world. Held during the Smart City Expo World Congress on November 5 and 6 in Barcelona, this event promises to unite forward-thinking startups, venture capitalists, city leaders, and industry experts to accelerate urban digitalization.

From an impressive array of 40 submissions spanning 10 sectors and 15 countries, six groundbreaking startups have been selected to present their solutions. These innovators are addressing key urban challenges, from traffic congestion and environmental health to waste management and EV infrastructure. The finalists are:

  • Goodvision: Enhances traffic projects through AI, offering solutions from data collection to real-time control.
  • Meersens: Provides environmental intelligence via AI, helping cities monitor and manage air and water quality, noise, and other pollutants.
  • Vizzia: Automates detection and enforcement against illegal dumping, creating cleaner urban spaces.
  • Pando2: A building management platform that integrates air quality, energy efficiency, and comfort using IoT and AI.
  • VizioSense: Optimizes urban spaces and traffic management with smart vision sensors powered by edge AI.
  • Stuart Energy: Delivers seamless EV charging experiences through AI and IoT, supporting cities’ sustainability goals.

These finalists will pitch their innovations to a distinguished panel of judges, including venture capital representatives from Demeter, Yotta Capital Partners, Speedinvest, and Bloomhaus Ventures AG, alongside leaders from Schréder, Connexin, Al-Madinah Region Development Authority, and Paradox Engineering.

At stake is over €50,000 in non-dilutive funding, as well as opportunities to forge strategic partnerships with cities and industry leaders.

The event will feature two pitch sessions on November 5 at Kurrant’s booth (Hall 3 – D30): the first at 12 pm and another at 2:30 pm. On November 6, the investment outcomes and business opportunities will be unveiled during a Deal Reveal session at 2:30 pm in the Innovation Agora.
