New Project (Full-Scale)UKCity of LondonVeoliaRecycleye RoboticsWaste
Published on June 5, 2024
Veolia has deployed an AI-powered robotic arm by Recycleye at its Southwark Integrated Waste Management Facility to enhance recycling efficiency. This robotic arm precisely sorts materials like paper, mixed plastics, and beverage cartons, isolating pure aluminum for more effective recycling. Part of Veolia’s GreenUP strategic plan, this innovation aims to boost operational efficiency and adapt to seasonal waste variations. The robotic system, featuring a 6-axis arm and pneumatic technology, can handle 35-50 items per minute, increasing both the quality and quantity of recovered materials. Supported by The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment, this project aligns with upcoming UK recycling regulations.
