Dubai has launched a fully autonomous, AI-driven parking system spanning over 36,000 on-street and off-street spaces across key communities. The initiative is led by Parkonic, the UAE’s leading smart parking operator, in partnership with Salik Company PJSC, the city’s exclusive toll gate operator, and Dubai Holding.
The system offers a seamless, ticketless, and barrier-free experience. Using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) and Parkonic’s AI platform, vehicles are detected upon entry and exit, with payments processed automatically through Salik’s integrated infrastructure—removing the need for manual checks or physical interaction.
Supporting Dubai’s Smart City 2030 and Future Mobility Vision, the deployment aims to reduce congestion, cut emissions, and enable real-time monitoring of parking availability. It features multilingual interfaces, automatic billing to prevent overstays, and full automation to improve user accessibility and operational efficiency.
The project enhances Dubai’s connected mobility ecosystem and sets a new standard in sustainable urban parking, contributing to broader goals around intelligent transport and Net Zero emissions.
