Flashnet, in collaboration with Saudi Delta Group, has implemented a smart street lighting system in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, featuring 5,700 inteliLIGHT® controllers. The deployment uses LoRaWAN communication technology to enable efficient management and monitoring of the city’s streetlights.
The system integrates NEMA controllers for individual lamp control and FRCM controllers for centralized segment control, optimizing installation and operational efficiency. LoRaWAN technology ensures long-range, low-power communication, suitable for Jeddah’s urban scale, while solar-powered UPS systems provide backup for uninterrupted operation during power outages.
This project aims to enhance energy efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and support Jeddah’s sustainability initiatives by enabling real-time performance monitoring and fault detection for the street lighting network.
