The city of Porto Alegre, in collaboration with Sebrae RS, has opened applications for the StartupRS Launch IluminaTown program, aimed at identifying and accelerating 10 early-stage startups developing smart public lighting solutions. Open until August 10, the initiative targets startups based in Rio Grande do Sul, even if not yet formally registered as businesses.

Running from August to November 2025, the program is supported by Hubittat, a mobility and infrastructure innovation lab, and lighting concessionaires IPSul and IP Canoas.

Selected startups will work on projects focused on operational efficiency, cost reduction, smart asset management, and infrastructure readiness for technologies such as NB-IoT and 5G. The program includes mentorship, validation testing, and access to industry events and platforms.
