Austria Boosts Recycling with Sensoneo

Austria is preparing to introduce its Deposit Return System, or DRS, for single-use beverage containers, with a launch date set for January 1, 2025. Sensoneo was selected to develop the IT infrastructure and implement the software necessary for this project. The DRS is set to boost Austria’s recycling rate of single-use beverage packaging, aiming to increase it from the current 70% to 80% by 2025, and to 90% by 2027. The system is for containers from 0.1 to 3 liters, subjected to a deposit of 25 cents.
