Pisa Approves Smart City Public Lighting Redevelopment

The Municipality of Pisa has approved a project to modernize and manage the city’s public lighting through a public-private partnership. The initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency, integrate smart city technologies, and improve urban safety. Following a selection process involving six bidders, Engie Servizi was chosen as the project’s promoter.

The plan includes the installation of second-generation LED lighting, upgrades to existing infrastructure, and the illumination of historical monuments. Additionally, smart technologies for traffic management and public safety enhancements will be implemented. The project is positioned as a significant step toward sustainability and urban innovation.
