Waste management is changing fast and the most exciting solutions are coming from where technology, infrastructure and circularity meet. At Kurrant, we were delighted to take part in the ECOEMBES Open Call for waste management startups during Foro de Las Ciudades at IFEMA Madrid.
Our own Jo Kassis joined the jury as eight startups presented practical solutions for some of the sector’s biggest challenges, from smarter collection and route optimisation to traceability, sorting, AI, computer vision, sensors and real-time data. Congratulations to all the participating teams: Altaroad, MOVIRO GmbH, Rego, The Recirculars, Humara, Metaspectral, Safi and SortFlow.
And a special congratulations to the winners: The Recirculars and Humara.
It was inspiring to see such strong innovation focused on helping cities, municipalities, operators and recyclers move toward a more efficient and circular waste management system.
