Australia’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation has allocated USD 33 million to Intellihub, the nation’s largest smart meter provider, for a nationwide rollout. These smart meters should allow consumers to manage and store home-generated solar power, enhancing grid stability.

According to the Australian Energy Market Operator, better consumer energy control could add 37 gigawatts of capacity by 2050. This technology is expected to deliver net benefits exceeding $500 million for several Australian states by 2030. However, concerns about data privacy and cybersecurity remain.
