Phoenix-based startup Nuclearn has completed a $10.5 million Series A funding round to expand its AI platform for nuclear reactor operations.
The round was led by Blue Bear Capital, with participation from SJF Ventures and follow-on investments from existing backers AZ-VC and Nucleation Capital.
Nuclearn’s technology is already deployed in more than 60 reactors across North America and over 65 globally. Its tools automate processes such as condition report analysis, outage planning, and regulatory documentation that typically require weeks of specialist effort.
The funding will support product development (adding new features for operations, engineering, and compliance), scaling the engineering and nuclear operations teams, and expanding into additional markets.
The investment arrives amid a broader trend of growth in nuclear energy as demand for clean baseload power rises and concerns about retiring workforce members increase. Nearly 25 % of nuclear industry workers are expected to retire in the coming years, and a growing number of reactors are planned globally.
