Poland’s Tauron Dystrybucja has received over €40 million from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. This funding will support the installation of over one million smart meters by the end of 2025, adding to the already installed 1.25 million meters. The subsidy, the largest the company has received, covers nearly half of the € 87 million total cost for this tranche. The new meters, funded by the EU Emissions Trading Scheme’s Modernisation Fund, should enhance energy management and improve customer service.
