Barcelona Innova Lab Mobility (BILM), in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council, has announced a new challenge focused on obtaining mobility data through the identification of acoustic signals. With a total budget of €200,000, the initiative will fund two projects, each receiving €100,000, to develop and implement innovative solutions over 18 months.
Urban mobility in Barcelona is a major source of noise pollution, accounting for approximately 85% of the city’s total noise levels. While existing data provides some insights, there is significant potential for improvement in capturing and analyzing acoustic signals to enhance decision-making and urban acoustic quality.
Proposals should incorporate innovative methodologies, deliver measurable outcomes, and be executable within 18 months. Solutions must integrate with vehicles or road traffic infrastructure in Barcelona.
The application deadline is March 24, 2025. Interested participants can visit Tomorrow Mobility Website
BILM, supported by BIT Habitat and Fira de Barcelona, aims to promote smart and sustainable urban mobility through innovative projects and pilot tests. This challenge marks the third in a series of initiatives designed to drive innovation in the mobility sector.
