The Gran Vega region in Seville has secured €788,067 in funding from Andalusia’s CITI program to develop smart city initiatives. The project, led by the Lora del Río municipality, will benefit nearly 120,000 residents across 12 towns.
The plan includes traffic and parking management systems, electric scooter stations, air quality monitoring, and a new mobility app. The initiative aims to modernize infrastructure and align with EU climate goals.
Funding is divided into two contracts: €102,807 for consultancy services (awarded to UTE CARSA-CBT) and €685,260 for implementation (assigned to Innovasur). The project is part of a broader €9.25 million program supporting 21 smart city initiatives in Andalusia.
The Gran Vega Association will oversee coordination among participating municipalities. The CITI program focuses on towns with fewer than 20,000 residents, promoting digital transformation and sustainable urban development.
