The Ávila City Council has officially selected MOVISAT to deliver its EcoSAT environmental management platform under the second lot of its “Ávila Smart City” initiative, part of the EDUSI strategy funded in part by EU Next Generation and FEDER funds.
EcoSAT enables the planning, monitoring, control and certification of all waste‑collection and street‑cleaning tasks. It collects real‑time data via embedded sensors, volumetric detectors, RFID-based identification systems and GPS, consolidating key performance indicators into automated dashboards to support operational decisions and service audits. Municipalities retain full ownership of service-generated data.
Under the contract, service provider FCC will feed vehicle, personnel and route data into EcoSAT. The platform publishes daily performance reports and deviation analyses to optimize routes, monitor service compliance, improve cost‑efficiency, and sustain data transparency.
Additionally, EcoSAT will supports citizen participation, incident tracking and quality auditing, enabling municipal technicians and public managers to respond more effectively to service issues.
