US-based mobility infrastructure specialist Iteris, Inc. has acquired the technology assets of ThruGreen, Inc. in a strategic transaction aimed at bolstering its cloud-based traffic signal monitoring and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capabilities. The deal integrates ThruGreen’s remote-equipment-monitoring and cloud-first intersection connectivity software into Iteris’s flagship ClearMobility® Platform, which enables agencies to connect to legacy and modern traffic signal controllers without extensive hardware upgrades. The cost of the asset purchase was not disclosed. Iteris indicated that the acquisition adds intellectual property and key technical resources from ThruGreen and strengthens its offering to transportation agencies and tech partners seeking scalable intersection-connectivity solutions.
The move signals Iteris’s push to scale its platform offerings globally by adding intersection-connectivity and V2X capabilities without requiring costly hardware overhauls for agencies. The acquisition positions the company to serve both legacy traffic systems and next-generation smart-city deployments with minimal physical infrastructure changes. Iteris described the ThruGreen architecture as “highly scalable and extensible” and indicated that it will augment the ClearMobility Platform’s connectivity reach and operational flexibility.
The acquisition is expected to accelerate Iteris’s ability to deliver cloud-enabled, controller-agnostic traffic signal management and monitoring services. As transportation agencies increasingly seek scalable, low-hardware-cost smart-infrastructure solutions, Iteris plans to leverage the combined capabilities of ThruGreen’s architecture and its own platform to meet emerging demand in smart cities and utilities.
