To mitigate high water costs associated with leaks, the Grand Châteaudun community has joined forces with Veolia to roll out new Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) water meters. Officially launched on January 1st, this initiative has just achieved significant milestones, with 50% of the targeted 6,000 households now equipped with the new technology. The project is scheduled to achieve full implementation by November. By facilitating real-time monitoring of water consumption, the AMI meters should enhance the efficiency of leak detection and reduce the necessity for physical inspections of water meters. By transitioning to this technology, the community aims to ensure more accurate billing and foster sustainable water management practices.
