Singapore-based UnaBiz has successfully closed the first tranche of its $25 million pre-Series C funding round, with investments from Japan’s KDDI Open Innovation Fund 3 (KOIF III) and KYOCERA Communication Systems Co., Ltd (KCCS). This funding will be used to accelerate growth across several key sectors, including security, automotive telemetry, logistics, and utilities.

UnaBiz, known for its expertise in massive IoT solutions, recently completed the acquisition and integration of Sigfox 0G technology. Over the past two years, the company claims to have expanded the Sigfox 0G Network by adding 4 million new devices, making it the largest unlicensed Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) globally, with a total of 13.5 million connected devices. According to UnaBiz the previously troubled network is now running profitably.

The fresh capital should help UnaBiz strengthen its presence in the security industry, where it has already connected an additional 1 million devices in the past year. In the utility sector, the company plans to increase its market share in gas and water services by leveraging hybrid solutions that integrate multiple network technologies. The company is also forming partnerships with leading automobile and motorbike manufacturers to expand its telemetry and anti-jamming services on a global scale. Additionally, UnaBiz is focusing on expanding its AI-powered Wi-Fi geolocation services for logistics and supply chain applications, such as pallet and parcel tracking.
