Veolia North America and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans have introduced the first U.S. Hubgrade digital control center at the East Bank wastewater treatment plant. This state-of-the-art facility uses advanced data collection, AI, and digital tools to monitor and optimize wastewater treatment processes. By integrating AI-driven analytics, Hubgrade enables real-time adjustments in operations, helping reduce chemical and energy use, cut costs, and lower emissions.
The system provides a centralized, secure data platform, collecting information on chemical use, energy consumption, and weather-related variations. This data-driven approach allows for rapid, data-based decision-making, where insights that once took hours to compile are now accessible with a few clicks. Hubgrade’s AI tools detect subtle operational changes, identifying potential energy savings and operational improvements.
The initiative aligns with Veolia’s GreenUp strategy, which aims to lead ecological transformation globally. With its comprehensive digital tools, Hubgrade is set to boost New Orleans’ infrastructure resilience, paving the way for enhanced water quality, cost savings, and a more sustainable future.
