Global investment manager PATRIZIA has introduced CiviSmart, a new integrated platform for smart city infrastructure in Italy. The company combines three acquired operators—Ottima, Selettra, and Atlantico—into a unified national network managing over 380,000 public lighting points across 200 municipalities.
CiviSmart marks a key milestone for PATRIZIA’s Smart City Infrastructure Fund (SCIF), which has been investing in Italy’s urban infrastructure since 2022. The platform supports EU energy transition goals by enhancing energy efficiency and digitalization in cities.
Beyond smart lighting, CiviSmart provides smart traffic management, IoT-enabled services, and energy-efficient building upgrades. Projects include smart city solutions in Chioggia, public building management in Venice, and sustainable infrastructure development in Puglia.
The launch aligns with PATRIZIA’s strategy to expand in European infrastructure, contributing to its goal of reaching €100 billion in assets under management by 2030. Smart public lighting is seen as a critical tool for reducing energy consumption and enabling digital urban services.
