National Grid has partnered with Kraken Technologies to implement an AI-powered platform aimed at improving operational efficiency for 6.5 million residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Massachusetts and New York. The multi-year initiative will utilize Kraken’s cloud-based system for customer service, billing, and smart meter technology.

The platform, already used by utilities worldwide for over 70 million accounts, processes billions of data points daily to optimize energy usage and customer support. National Grid is the first major US utility to adopt Kraken’s technology, which is expected to modernize legacy systems and enhance service reliability.

Kraken, owned by Octopus Energy, supports energy providers in managing power grids and consumer devices globally. The collaboration aims to streamline operations and introduce innovative energy solutions for National Grid’s customers.
