Johannesburg Water has initiated the installation of advanced smart pressure controllers across its network to improve water management and reduce losses. The project, part of the city’s broader Smart City agenda, targets areas with high water demand and aging infrastructure. By June 2025, 100 controllers are expected to be operational on key reservoirs and pressure valves. Additionally, 125 noise loggers are being deployed to detect underground leaks early, enabling faster repairs. These efforts aim to optimize system pressure, minimize leaks, and enhance the overall sustainability of the city’s water supply.
