Norwegian distribution system operator (DSO) Lede has partnered with StormGeo to deploy GridEyes, an AI- and satellite-based platform designed to enhance vegetation management and grid resilience.
Developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA), the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), GridEyes combines satellite imagery and analytics to identify and prioritise vegetation risks that could threaten power infrastructure.
The rollout marks the commercial debut of GridEyes, which forms part of StormGeo’s Utility Solution Suite alongside tools for weather forecasting, outage prediction, and extreme weather response.
