Paris-based smart city technology company UPCITI has raised US$20 million in a Series A funding round led by Notion Capital, with participation from Point Nine Capital and Chalfen Ventures.
UPCITI’s platform blends proprietary sensors and edge-AI software to support urban operations such as traffic management, pedestrian flows and public infrastructure, all built around a “privacy by design” principle that keeps image and personal data processing local.
Founded in 2017 by CEO Jean-Baptiste Poljak, UPCITI’s system currently operates in more than 150 cities across 17 countries.
The new funding will be used to expand internationally, accelerate product innovation and scale operations in the United States, where the company plans a launch in late 2024.
