The Diputación de Córdoba has launched two projects under the Orden CITI smart-municipality initiative, with a funding package of €1.49 million to support 70 municipalities and 4 autonomous local entities (ELAs) in the province of Córdoba.
These projects aim to reduce the digital divide by implementing broadband connectivity, smart irrigation systems, smart lighting, environmental monitoring stations and tourist sensors across rural and under-20 000 inhabitant municipalities.
Administered through the provincial council’s Delegation of Technological Development, Digital Transformation and Youth together with the Junta de Andalucía’s Directorate-General for Innovation Promotion, the programmes are already awarded with an execution period of 18 months.
Across Andalusia, the Orden CITI instrument covers 21 projects, benefiting 311 municipalities and approximately 1.3 million residents, with a total subsidy envelope of around €9.25 million
