The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and the city of Fullerton have partnered with LYT to implement LYT.transit, an advanced traffic signal priority solution, for a one-year pilot program aimed at improving bus transit along the congested Harbour Blvd. corridor. This initiative uses LYT’s AI-powered technology to prioritize traffic signals, allowing buses to move faster and more safely through intersections.
Under a Master Service Agreement with Arcadis, LYT.transit integrates with the Traffic Management Center (TMC) via a single-edge device that communicates with networked signals through a cloud platform. This technology ensures buses receive consistent green lights, reducing congestion and improving efficiency. By optimizing signal timing based on broader traffic patterns, the system aims to enhance traffic flow, benefiting public transportation and road safety. The deployment is part of LYT’s broader expansion on the West Coast.
