In the US, the California Energy Commission has announced over $208 million in grant funding through its Responsive, Easy Charging Products With Dynamic Signals program. The grants are set to accelerate the development of user-friendly residential electric vehicle charging solutions that enable homeowners to respond to dynamic grid signals. Dcbel, a Montreal-based EV charging technology company, secured the largest grant of over $52 million for its bidirectional EV charger and grid-edge computing platform. The funds are expected to support projects that reduce charging costs, enhance resilience, and explore vehicle-to-grid as well as vehicle-to-everything technologies.
