South Korea Picks C-V2X Over Wi-Fi for Vehicle Communication

South Korea has selected cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) direct communications for its next-generation vehicle communication system, favoring cellular technology over Wi-Fi. The aim is to develop a Cooperative-Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) using LTE-V2X, enhancing road safety and laying the groundwork for automated driving vehicles. South Korea’s nationwide deployment of C-ITS is set to begin next year, expecting to boost infrastructure spending and product development in this technology sector.
