Flemish Gov and Orange Launch €23M Connectivity Drive

The Flemish government and Orange Belgium have entered a €23 million five-year agreement covering traditional connectivity, IoT, and 5G standalone services. Orange will provide over 75,000 SIM cards, 9,500 IoT and M2M SIMs, the Orange Phone app, Mobile Threat Protection, the IoT device management platform ‘IoT Live Objects’, and the Smart Parking for EV app. The deal also alludes to ‘Start Walking 5G’, a showcase of 5G standalone applications. The Flemish government, aiming for digital leadership in Belgium, operates ‘Digital Flanders’, which focuses on digital innovations, including smart city initiatives.
