Naples Advances Water Management with Smart Meter Installation

The city of Naples in Italy is modernizing its water management by introducing AMI smart meters in homes, enhancing service and reducing waste. As part of a €27 million project, with €21 million already funded, Naples aims to install 30,000 smart meters by June, having already set up 24,000. These devices should provide precise, continuous readings and detect minor leaks. This technology aims not only to benefit users by preventing water wastage but also provides hourly consumption data to spot anomalies in home water systems. This initiative is part of a broader effort to integrate new technologies into the urban infrastructure, improving the efficiency and quality of city services.
