The Reus City Council has begun installing sensors to measure air quality and noise in ten locations around the city as part of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) project. This initiative aims to improve public health and combat climate change by reducing pollutant emissions.

Cameras for license plate reading and traffic monitoring are being installed at key city entrances, along with a network of sensors and a data management platform. Sensors have been placed in areas such as Onze de Setembre Avenue and Sunyer Promenade.

The project is divided into two phases: the first includes the installation of cameras and fiber optic cables, while the second involves setting up a network of sensors and environmental monitoring stations. The first phase is expected to be completed this summer and the second by winter.
