Alibaba Cloud to Optimize Power Use at Paris 2024 Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will use Energy Expert, a data-driven, cloud-based solution by Alibaba Cloud, to monitor and analyze power consumption across all 35 venues of the Paris 2024 Olympics. This platform will consolidate data on electricity use, power demand, venue capacity, and weather conditions, providing real-time insights through 100 smart electric meters installed at various locations.

The data will help the IOC plan future events more efficiently and reduce carbon emissions. Energy Expert’s AI-driven recommendations aim to optimize power demand and minimize waste, contributing to the sustainability goals of the Olympics. The Paris 2024 Games, from July 26 to August 11, aim to halve their carbon footprint compared to previous editions.
