Munich-based Hula Earth has raised €1.6 million in pre-seed funding to scale its biodiversity monitoring platform. Led by Point Nine Capital and supported by Climate Founders, Partners in Clime, WithEarth, and notable entrepreneurs, the startup aims to help industries track their impact on nature. Backed by the European Space Agency, Hula Earth combines proprietary BioT (Biodiversity Internet of Things) sensors and satellite data to deliver comprehensive biodiversity insights.

The BioT sensors automatically capture environmental data and bioacoustic recordings, identifying over 6,000 species in their natural habitats. These smart sensors provide on-the-ground data by monitoring acoustic signals, temperature, humidity, and other ecological factors, offering precise, real-time snapshots of biodiversity health. Integrating this detailed ground data with satellite imagery enables Hula Earth’s platform to deliver a holistic view of ecosystems, helping industries reduce business risks, make informed sustainability decisions, and improve biodiversity management across their value chains.
