El Campello will improve its water supply efficiency through a new sensor-based monitoring system. The project, part of Aguas de Alicante’s digitalization plan, involves dividing the distribution network into smaller hydraulic sectors, each equipped with flow meters to track consumption and detect leaks.

Funded by Spain’s PERTE Digitalization of Water initiative, the €6.2 million plan is 84% subsidized. The El Campello project, set for completion by April 2026, will create six monitored sectors to optimize real-time water management.

The system should enable remote monitoring and quicker leak detection, reducing water loss and improving resource allocation. The upgrade focuses on areas with longer supply routes to enhance efficiency in high-priority zones.
