Northumbrian Water has adopted Origin Tech’s Origin Find and Fix® system to accelerate leak detection and repair across its network in North East England. The technology integrates Origin Orbit™ satellite monitoring with Origin No Dig® repair methods, enabling underground leaks to be identified, often before they surface, and sealed in a single visit without excavation.
Real-time satellite data is analyzed using AI to detect subtle ground changes that may indicate water loss, with field teams then applying a gel-based sealant directly inside pipes. Since 2023, the water utility has used the No Dig® approach to reduce disruption and costs, and is now among the first UK water companies to combine both satellite detection and non-invasive repair in a unified solution.
