The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has installed and replaced a total of 267,552 smart water meters across the city, including 6,121 units for new connections and 70,445 replacements between January and July 2025.

The rollout is part of SEWA’s wider strategy to improve water resource management, reduce losses, and support digital transformation in utility services.

By replacing mechanical meters with smart systems, the authority aims to enhance accuracy in consumption monitoring, improve operational efficiency, and ensure sustainable service delivery throughout Sharjah.
