EDF (Électricité de France) has announced a €4.5 million investment in Spotr, a Dutch start-up specialized in AI-powered automated building inspections. EDF, along with historical investors Volta Ventures and InnovationQuarter, aims to support Spotr in developing the world’s most reliable and extensive image database. The funds should accelerate housing decarbonization and curb underinsurance. EDF also revealed ongoing discussions within the group to use Spotr’s platform for decarbonizing residential and commercial sectors across Europe.
