Seattle is set to become the first North American city to introduce double-decker electric buses with wireless charging, a move aimed at curbing climate change. These electric buses, along with articulated ones, are to be powered by InductEV’s in-ground inductive chargers. This technology is allegedly more cost-efficient and space-saving than traditional wired charging. The initiative is supported by Sound Transit’s development of a new bus rapid transit route along Interstate 405, aiming to improve connectivity and sustainability.
