Vodafone Spain Expands NB-IoT Network to Cover 51 Provincial Capitals

Vodafone Spain has announced the expansion of its Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) network to cover all 51 provincial capitals, operating 16,782 sites that connect over 100,000 devices per station. The company claims this milestone supports 7.5 million IoT connections, representing a 66% increase from 2022. Vodafone’s NB-IoT technology is utilized in sectors such as security, logistics, agriculture, and smart cities. Notably, a deal with Aqualia will add over a million NB-IoT connections for innovative water management. Additionally, the network aids in protecting the Laguna Primera de Palos wetland with a connected fire-detection system.
