Axis Communications has introduced two new indoor air quality sensors, the AXIS D6210 and AXIS D6310, designed to monitor pollutants, vaping, and smoking while measuring humidity and temperature. Both sensors were developed in-house to enhance air quality management in various indoor environments.
The AXIS D6210 integrates with select Axis IP devices, such as cameras and speakers, offering a cost-effective monitoring solution. Meanwhile, the standalone AXIS D6310, set for release by late 2025, provides additional features, including audio analytics and a multi-LED strobe for alerts.
Poor indoor air quality poses significant health risks, with the World Health Organization linking it to millions of deaths annually. The new sensors aim to address these concerns by enabling real-time monitoring and immediate response to air quality issues.
The AXIS D6210 uses Axisโ PortCast technology that claims to allow installation up to 100 meters from connected devices without extra IP addresses. The D6310 expands functionality with Power-over-Ethernet support and an integrated speaker.
These sensors are expected to improve workplace safety, energy efficiency, and operational planning through data-driven insights. Axis Communications also hinted at future expansions in environmental sensing technology.
