The TALQ Consortium has unveiled the fourth edition of its widely adopted Tender Template for outdoor lighting, aiming to support the development of future-proof smart cities. This latest version is available in English and Chinese, with additional languages expected in early 2025.
The updated TALQ Tender Template replaces the previous ‘Pocket Guide for Smart Outdoor Lighting Tenders’ and offers a more comprehensive framework for cities and municipalities to draft tenders. It emphasizes interoperable and open solutions, enabling the integration of smart street lighting systems from multiple vendors. This streamlined process helps city officials address the complexities of designing Outdoor Lighting Networks (OLN), ensuring energy efficiency, cost-effective maintenance, and adaptability to future technologies.
Key features of Edition 4 include detailed technical requirements, example wording for tender documents, and a global fit to accommodate various international standards. By drawing on real-world examples from major cities worldwide, the template simplifies the tendering process, making it easier for both issuers and vendors to collaborate effectively.
Available for free download on the TALQ Consortium’s website, the Tender Template continues to support the adoption of smart, efficient, and sustainable outdoor lighting solutions worldwide. The consortium, founded in 2012, currently includes nearly 70 member companies dedicated to advancing smart city interoperability.
