Rabot Energy Raises €50M Series B Led By Endeit And DeepTech & Climate Fonds

Hamburg-based Rabot Energy raises a €50 million Series B to grow past 200,000 customers and link home batteries into a virtual power plant.

Rabot Energy, the Hamburg-based electricity supplier, announced on 15 October 2026 a €50 million Series B round led by the growth investor Endeit Capital together with the DeepTech & Climate Fonds, with the proceeds earmarked for expanding its dynamic-tariff customer base and linking household batteries, wall boxes and heat pumps into a virtual power plant. Existing investors HV Capital, High-Tech Gründerfonds, Bosch Ventures, CNI, Acurio Ventures and vent.io also took part, and the company reports more than 200,000 customers today against a stated target of 1 million.

Customer Growth That The Round Has To Extend Fivefold

According to the company, the customer base includes about 15,000 business customers and has grown from roughly 35,000 in January 2024 to more than 100,000 in July 2025 and more than 200,000 in October 2026, which is an average of about 6,700 net additions per month over the last 15 months. Reaching 1 million customers would require roughly 800,000 further additions, so the round implies a required pace several times higher than the one achieved since mid-2025.

Rabot also reports revenue of €200 million and more than 600 million kWh of green electricity supplied, and it says its customers saved about €45 million in 2025 against the default-supplier tariffs they would otherwise have paid. The savings figure is the company’s own benchmark calculation against default-supplier rates.

A Capital Structure Built In Four Rounds

The Series B follows a pre-seed and seed phase that raised €4.5 million by April 2023, a €17.5 million Series A led by HV Capital in January 2024, and an investment from Bosch Ventures in July 2025. The disclosed total across all rounds, excluding the Bosch amount, is therefore €72 million, of which the new round represents 69 per cent.

Endeit Capital partner Sara Resvik pointed to a core business that the investor describes as profitable and to the technology Rabot has built to manage electricity demand at scale, while Anne Hinze of the DeepTech & Climate Fonds cited the team’s execution as the reason for the fund’s participation, according to the funding coverage.

Rabot Flow Ties The Tariff To A Battery

The product at the centre of the virtual power plant plan is Rabot Flow, launched in June 2026, which combines a dynamic electricity tariff, a smart meter and a plug-in battery that charges when renewable generation is plentiful and discharges when it is scarce. The company says the battery ships within three days, connects to a standard socket, is activated through an app in about two minutes and requires no solar installation, which allows tenants to take part, and it claims an average household cost reduction of 15 per cent.

The batteries are sold at cost price, according to Tech Funding News, which means the hardware functions as an acquisition tool for the tariff and for the control software rather than as a profit line. The tariff can also be used without a smart meter if the customer submits monthly meter readings through the app, which lowers the entry barrier for households that have not yet had a smart meter installed.

German Flexibility Providers Are Raising In Parallel

Rabot is one of several German companies financing the same combination of retail supply and controllable devices. Berlin-based Ostrom raised €20 million in a Series B in June 2025 to deploy smart meters and scale its NeoGrid virtual power plant, and the metering point operator metiundo received €40 million in Series A funding from Octopus Energy Generation, as Kurrantly reported in February 2026.

The regulatory side is moving as well: Germany’s Bundesnetzagentur adopted its MiSpeL determination on the market integration of electricity storage and charging points on 1 October 2026, two weeks before the Rabot announcement.

Growth Targets Set Before The Round

In October 2025 the company stated a target of more than 300,000 customers by the end of 2026, according to Tech Funding News, which leaves about 100,000 additions to be delivered in the 77 days between the announcement and 31 December if that target still stands. Across the 33 months from January 2024 the customer count has risen 5.7 times, a multiple that the 1 million customer goal would require Rabot to repeat alongside funded suppliers such as Ostrom.

London-based Axle Energy, which raised a $25 million Series A in July 2026 to expand a distributed energy platform across the United Kingdom and continental Europe, shows that investors are also funding the software layer separately from the retail supplier.

What Will Decide The Next Round

The measurable test for the virtual power plant is the 300,000 customer mark that Rabot set for the end of 2026, followed by the number of batteries and controllable devices dispatched as a single resource, because that count in megawatts is what will show whether Rabot Flow operates as a tariff add-on or as a grid asset.
