German satellite operator OroraTech has raised an additional €12 million ($13.3 million) in Series B funding to expand its wildfire-monitoring constellation. The investment was led by the BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund, with participation from Rabo Ventures, Bayern Kapital, Edaphon, and the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund.
The funds will support the launch of eight more heat-tracking cubesats in 2025, improving the revisit time of its existing 10-satellite constellation. The company also plans to enhance its AI-powered wildfire modeling tools and expand operations in the U.S.
Since its founding seven years ago, OroraTech has raised nearly €60 million in venture funding and secured around €40 million in commercial contracts. The company provides wildfire detection and analysis services to industries such as forestry, infrastructure, and insurance.
